got on a dirt bike and moved cattle from one pasture to the next...it worked much better than a 4 wheeler.. could head em off faster if needed...i might try that again one day. ;-)

thanks g & l , i dint press too much.. :lol: those things can get away from you pretty easy... and mahoney... :lol: the same thought ran thru my head as i was running around out there...

but i take it pretty easy.. didnt try anything too fancy... could keep a good distance and keep them going in the direction i wanted ..i was kinda like an annoying fly... i just kept buzzing around out there until they eased thru the gates... and that thing is fast enough that you can head em off if need be... :lol:

i was talking to a guy at work a while back about riding horses, etc.. and he said... i dont get on anything that hasnt got a kill switch... :lol:

We've been doing it since the 70's. The cows get use to it .... but you don't have to saddle your ride.

If come on girls don't work I turn the red heeler in. She can keep them moving without stirring them up or getting them excited. One little nip on the heel is all she has to do. The next time they move up when she gets near. I don't like getting them excited. Sometimes I do use a 4 wheeler, but I'm in the front with a buckek of feed on the rack. From a distance it looks like they are driving me to the feedlot. Serves the same purpose but they are not worked up or excited.

Why would you like to see Caustic on a bike, when the bucket of cubes works well for him.. That's safer than the bike and doesn't make the cows near as excited.

I may be a little backwards.....but years ago when I was growing up we had lady that looked over us while we were out for the summer....we always had to walk or ride a 1/4 mile to eat lunch. I got her to ride one day and that was that......she didn't care for it much.....I don't think you or Caustic would enjoy it.......kind of like riding a roller coaster except that you are the on in control.

we use 4 wheelers or a golf cart to go and check on the cows down in the pasture...just depends on how muddy it might be....herding on a 4 wheeler is not to easy...we usually shake the bucket...and watch em come runnin and buckin

I'd say it has the ring of experienced veteran that knows that it's a lot easier than dealin with horses or combustion engines... :lol:
