Also, we DO NOT plan on letting cattle get to the pond, it WILL be fenced out of their territory. May work on a cyphon system to water them though.

Poor cows A nice new pond and the cows can't even go take a dip on a hot summer day....
Looks nice Jeanne ever thought of throwing some channel cat in there?

NO - I have a small (1/4 acre) pond that we are feeding/raising channels. Channels tend to "muddy" the water & I do not want that in this new pond. Catfish will stay out. But, they sure are fun to catch & eat - if you can get them to bite! I can land my bait anywhere on this little pond from one spot, I know there are LOTS of big fish in there - and sometimes you can't even get a nibble! But when they bite, hang on - good fight! This summer we caught 7-8# channels. One is enough for several meals. Great eating.
