My understanding is where the cattle are in areas a day or two hike and crawl past all but inaccessible.

My uncle has had a herd of more than 30 cows that went feral in the mountains. They are impossible to catch in corrals and very hard to hunt. Feral = Smart.

Perhaps we should all strive to become a bit feral.

Its really not much different than wild horses. Just think of the uproar if they were shooting them.

They shoot horses, donkeys, and other non-native animals out of Big Bend. They gave the animal lovers several years to trap them out. They didn't have any luck so they brought in guys to permanently remove them with rifles.
