This is the heifer we bought at the Bellis Sale earlier this month.

She's pretty nice. What's her breeding? Age? Horned or Polled?

I'd like to see a touch more bone and more thickness in the rear quarter, but all in all she is pretty balanced and should do well for y'all.

We finally got our 2 new ones this past Sat. I'll try to get pics up soon.

FarmWife, did you happen to get those cattle at Star Lake's sale saturday?
I didnt go but i heard about it. I worked as a cowboy on Sunday for the Red Hills Polled Hereford sale and Star lake came and picked up a few calves and there were some past Star Lakes that went through the ring and they looked pretty nice.

Farmwife, she's the heifer we got at the Bellis sale in Missouri. If you have the catalog she's lot 61A. She has alot of CL1 Domino and Dominette in her. I am not good with the old bloodlines, though. She is a Sept 07 and is polled. We watched the starlake sale on TV. Glad I didn't go. Way to rich for our blood!

No, DeShazer. Lots 99 and 102. They are both out of the Miss February cow. 99 is a Sept. out of Moler and 102 is a Nov. out of Maui Jim. 102 is a much better heifer IMO. They both show a lot of extension in the front end and are very clean, especially the Maui Jim.

We'll see how they do.

Hay girlfriend...........nice :D .
I go away for a few weeks and your out there spending money
We hope to get our first heifer this year around October, She will be my baby..........I'm going open  . I'll show my little rug rats a thing or two, they are all waiting and placing bets that mom is all talk and no show.
I went back to school this year and blew their little butts out of the water. Mom came home with straight A's. I posted my grades on our fridge, it was great :D . I woke up the next morning to the kids in shock  . "No way," was my sons reaction.........hahahahahah. We have a little thing here in our family, we reward the kids with money for A's and B's. They now owe me.............hahahahaha.

How are all the other cattle doing, are you happy with the gang?

Hey, show steer up- I didn't see your post until just now-sorry. We bought one more heifer this past weekend. We are done buying for the year-thank goodness-that is unless my son sells his bull. I have a picture of this one posted under sales. The kids are planning on hereford jr. nationals in Tulsa next year, so they each have a heifer to start on. Their showstring is being cut due to feed costs. After our fairs in Sept. we will only be feeding these 2 and 2 commercial heifers. Hopefully we can raise our heifers next year. We have several bred and 4 with bulls. We have a Who Made Who son we are breeding some of our 2nd calvers to. Congrats on the grades! I have been playing with the idea of going back and getting a teaching licensce. I have a bachelors in business, but am thinking about going through the non traditional route to get certified for elementary ed.
