I just found the site yesterday and I wanted to post a few pics of my herd. Some pics will be from a couple of years ago and a couple that are more recent. I have the family farm from my Grandpa and my Dad helped me until his passing last summer. We had decided to go w/ a Red Angus bull to cross breed my Charolois cows. I'm just now getting the calves, 4 so far, and I'm excited about them.

Anyways, I hope y'all enjoy the pics. :)

Thank you matty. :) I have 8 first calf heifers this spring to calve. Four of them have had their babies w/o any assistance and four more to go. Calving heifers always makes me nervous.

Welcome to the boards, always nice to see another Missouri person posting. Nice looking bull and looks like you are getting the kind of calves that will sell real well.
 
I used to run nothing but Char cows. Started crossing to Gelb or Balancer bulls. The calves coming off this cross are the best looking animals I've ever had. It's getting to the point that I have a lot of red and tans in the herd so I might have to get a Char bull to increase that end of the bloodlines. At any rate I think you'll be happy with the results of this breeding. Welcome to the boards and good luck with the rest of your heifers.

Thank you. I'm rather proud of the heifers. They are right at 2 years old now and calving very easy so far. Had 5/8 have their babies. I'm pretty proud of the bull too. He is easy to handle and gentle enough for a bull. :)

Thank you, I'm hoping to bring down the height a bit and bulk them up a little. :)

Several years ago, I had a couple of cows that were half Galb and half Char....they were my fav cows at that time. One of them always weaned off a 700 lb calf in the fall and she was never the first to have her babies. Had a small udder and you'd think she would starve a calf to death...lol

I'm really anxious to see how it goes. I have one first calf heifer that is the mommy of the calf (bull) that is on my avatar that is 1/2 red angus...so her calf is 3/4 red angus and 1/4 char. I'm looking forward to seeing how she does as a momma cow and the disposition and conformation of the calf. :)

Thanks for the well wishing on the heifers calving. They always make me nervous as a cat on a hot tin roof. I've just about got a path worn to the barn from the house now...lol

Thank you for the welcome. I'm trying my best and have some of the family helping me as well and, well, it's just so addicting...I do love the cattle...lol
