Yes, there are red Belties. The most fabulous one ever was named Tabasco. He was a reserve champion but unfortunately contracted an incurable infection and had to be put down at an early age before he could be drawn/collected. He was from Four Winds Farm.

There are also several shades of dun. I have one , a silver dun, that at distance looks like a Charolais. I have two heifers that were as red as Bo until about one year when they turned brown. Also several shades of blonde, etc.

I think red are the scarcest, certainly less than 1% of registrations, possibly less than one in a thousand.

We have some belties around here.....out of ALL the black ones(150+/-) there is ONE red calf(no red bull either)

He was originally from the Krull herd in Iowa.

I think there are 5-6 breeders of reds.

Red Star in Wasco, California has some for sale right know but it is too far for me to ship at today's rates.

The Belted Galloay Society might know some red breeders. I see a few in the Society's sale catalogs but not many.

I know mine isn't super or anything but I figure I was lucky to have one as good as him for my little herd (20).
