New Epds!

After reading the Herfordsire posts, I propose a new epd for Sale price. It could be symbolized by $$.

Also we probably need a semen price epd.

Anyone else have any?

How about a full page ad epd.

Those epd's would be ever bit as meaningful as the ones currently used by bull salesmen today.

Epd's have their place they are a useful tool, not the end just a beginning. But I can see why many are turned off, after reading some of the posts here lately you would think taht EPD's are a direct letter from GOD as to how a animal will breed.

PS How about a "chances of screwing the new guy" EPD?

Taken for what they actually should be used for................ EPD's do work. They are not perfect, but the best thing we have for a genetic prediction analysis.

But unfortunately there are no EPD's for bad feet and legs, phenotypic traits, reproductive consistency, etc.

OK. I see your points. Do you see mine? If not, maybe I help you see what I see. It is more efficient if we work together as a team, so we can all be winners. It is important our subconscious minds operate like they were designed to without all the compiled resistance accumulated over the years.

I wasn't commenting per se on your plan, I wish you good luck in your endeavors, I do think that you have a tough row to hoe. Hopefully you have the Millions that it will take to succeed. (Which begs the question, I think, that if you do have millions, why are you spending them to earn thousands?)

Actually I was thinking of a comment someone made on your post about the non-real world conditions most of those cattle are raised in to achieve their phony first time epds.
I think that you are right though, subconsciously my subconscious mind was attempting to eliminate the subconscious negative thoughts that were subconsciously going through my subconscious. Hope that clears it all up. :D

I do have a history of setting high goals. Many times I do not succeed but I am persistant and I don't give up. Millions.., well, if I make $100K per year @ 10 years, I will be 55 years old, so I am half way there. I guess I should continue to save and keep investing wisely denying worldly temptations. :oops:

Non-real world...Yes, I joined a group of elite breeders that base their breeding choices upon honesty. Yet if records are skewed, the they will be filtered out as long as the majority of us are honest. Since I beleive the majority of us are honest, and I believe a person is basically honest, I will take the chance the EPDs are accurate to direct my program as a leader in the coming decades.

I liked the accumulated resistance part. There is a lot of truth in that. Kinda like overcoming ingrained predjudices eh? :)
