Canada has had low-sulfur diesel for a number of years. I don't believe its as low as the new US low-sulfur rules call for, however the majority of our gas/oil companies have added a lubricant to their product to offset the reduced sulfur. I have my suspicions that when the current stocks of standard diesel have been exhausted within the US, the oil companies will switch to delivering low-sulphur, but with an additive package that will make it safe to run in pre-2006 diesel engines. I would be a little careful in where you fill for the next little while, as the diesel fuel quality (and their lubricants) within Canada varies a great deal.
