Hard to evaluate with those pics. Would like to see a side profile and one from the rear. Then I could give you my opinion. From those pics it looks like he does have big shoulders and maybe pinched in the heart girth.
 
I don't think the shoulders is a problem, he could have more capacity and gut though. Otherwise I think you've done well.
