I agreed to buy this bull this morning. They'll be delivering him after he's tested. He's 19 months old. I'll be using him on commercial Brangus cows to raise my own replacements. What do you think?
Thank you. He's supposed to be all Brangus. As a couple of other people have pointed out, his sheath is a little long, but if he was perfect I couldn't afford him. I really like his depth and thickness.Kingfisher":1r1357jv said:You sure he ain't a little Sim? He looks good enough for sure!

He will probably do a very fine job for you. He just wouldn't work so well for me. And that's ok. We all have different programs and different goals.
With that plan, you will minimize the sheath and the white wont matter. :DRafter S":1to9f338 said:branguscowgirl":1to9f338 said:I like his depth and thickness also. :D

Thank you for your input, and you're certainly right about people having different goals. I plan to use him on some of my mostly Brangus cows to raise my replacements, which I'll breed back to a Hereford. I can see why he may not work for someone raising registered cattle.
Thank you for the congratulations. And yes, I bought him for the price they had him listed. I tried to talk them down some but didn't have any luck.ricebeltrancher":m489rt16 said:I saw that bull listed. If he's sound, I think he's a steal at the price they had him listed at. He should make some pretty awesome replacements. Congrats!
I would if I had some.jedstivers":fu3iw2p4 said:I think he's fine. His sheath isn't long, his legs are just a little short.
You should but him on a few Herf's now also.

Buy him and use him. You'll be glad you did. The sheath is ok and the white won't appear on many of his calves unless he's breeding some other breed of cattle that are not black. Most of those "clean" sheathed brangus bulls you see pictures of have been photoshopped...most way too much.
Just hope those heifer's he's keeping, dont injure or break their peckers... :cowboy:TexasBred":2ezjzfcy said:Rafter S":2ezjzfcy said:I agreed to buy this bull this morning.
