i was expecting a white face.

i bought her at 8 months old and she was already bred to her sire and no one knew. a good balancer bull, i keep my heifers seperate and all my calves are cut. i don't want to do that again, 2 vets, me and my 18 year old son.

Bet the heifer isn't in a hurry to do that again either. ;-)

Congrats on the new calf. Be just over a month (if no twins arrive) till we see any calves here.

Hey,
this way you'll know if there are any flaws you need to get rid of. thats the one good thing about inbreds. if theres a problem lurking around it should show up. maybe she'll be a linebred, :D

i loaded her and took her to the vet,she didn't even hardly look at the calf. i was worried at first she was too shook up and wanted to get away. but when i put them in the lot she started licking and now she is very protective.

That's good, I would be worried about one that young having that amount of difficulty accepting that thing that caused her so much of a problem. :lol:

She's cute. Glad it worked out well. Sounds like it was a tough situation. Been there, a Jersey heifer with a first calf by a Brahman (long story), 3 of us and finally got the calf out and she took to it like glue. Glad that was many years ago.

she is mostly gelbvieh and a little angus mixed. the bull is a balancer gelbvieh and angus
