Bryce Schumann, Lecompton, Kan., has been named chief executive officer for the American Angus Association, effective June 13. Schumann has served as the Association’s director of member services for the past seven years. He replaces John Crouch, who announced in February his intention to retire.

I dont know much abou Bryce. Is he going to be at least as supportive of the Junior program as others have been? I'm also curious who will fill his postion. Are they going to give James Fisher one more job to do?

I'm kinda curious about who will take his place as well. I really don't know much about the guy so we will see what kind of changes he brings about. Should be interesting.

That's really interesting! Bryce is known to raise quality Herefords. Suprised the Angus folks would allow a Hereford breeder to be CEO.

Well the Hereford folks got our guy "Jack Ward" who I really wanted to see as the new CEO. At any rate these guys are professionals. They understand who signs their checks. They have a job to do and do it well as best I can see. Its a business!

Do not know. But lets put it this way. Milford Jenkins left what I would assume to be a 6 figure income at OSU to become the head of the "Angus Foundation" I recon that the AAA is kind of like a School District where no matter how good the coach is, the principal has to get paid more. So I'd bet he gets a good 6 figure income. If they keep the association growing (No matter which one it is) then it is money well spent.

It looks like he started with the AAA in 2000 in the CAB area, then went into the activities branch. He's currently in member services, so he's punched a lot of tickets in the seven or eight years he's been with them. I don't know if John Crouch even had cattle? IMO, he did a good job running the organization. I hate to see him go.

Bryce was Pres. of the Kansas Hereford Assoc. in 2004. And still working for CAB at the same time?

Schu-Lar Herefords have been around a few years too.

Bryce was Pres. of the Kansas Polled Hereford Assoc. in 2004 and is still a director.
