New foal was born yesterday evening. Little Jack, we named Hank. He's more paint than spot, and his flexor tendon looks weak in his back left leg. I'm keeping an eye on that. He's sweet as he can be.
Okay, can't get it to download, but it 's in the photo gallery. He's awful cute.

How's this? I'm sorry, I couldn't help myself...he is precious.

Oh Lammie, congratulations....! Nursing okay, mom being good, pooping and peeing? Hope his leg improves, maybe as he starts moving and exploring, that'll take care of it. Keep posting, he's cute as a bug. How exciting for you!

Thanks, Alice. Yes, he's doing great. Born in the rock pile, as is custom with Sarah. Had to carry him out myself and get them stalled. Let them out last night after I penned the jack. His flexor tendon is looking better and he's running around kicking up his heals like he should.

Got our new Jennet last night, too. Ruth is, well, ugly! She's got that broke neck that donkeys get when then eat too much and it will never go away. And she needs the farrier badly, so I'm going to call him today if I get the chance. But she's sweet and good natured and halter broke. We'll keep her till she foals and she what she produces. She's due in late September. I'm going to clip her tonight. She needs to have her legs and belly shaved. And I'm betting she's never been wormed, so that's on for tonight, too. Loaded real well.
