Just a reminder to everyone to tell those you care about how much they mean to you!
Had a round of bad storms come through here Sunday evening, and of course hubby gets a call from dispatch. He didn't get back home til Monday late afternoon. I noticed he walked a bit stiff, thought he was just that tired. He proceeded to tell me how he had a close call.
Tree had a line pinned to the ground, and as they assessed and started cutting based on the plan, all was under control, or so they thought. They had the line tied down, but one more cut, and the line slingshot sideways. Hubby saw it coming and started running, the line caught him under the chin bone, on the side of his neck and tossed him a good ways, and knocked him out for a few minutes. Things could of been much, much worse!
Hubby does 2 jobs rated in the 10 most dangerous. Farming and Lineman. He is very safety conscious, thankfully!
Michele
PS - He also noted how when storms come through, rural people are more thankful that you restored power, and the town people complain it took you so long. So, thank you to all those people with patience!
