I like his thickness and depth a lot. I always have trouble relating your EPD numbers to our EBV's.

I've just used some semen today from a bull Bruns Blaster that I am sampling.

Actually I didn't expect him to have any EBV figures yet but would have liked to see the milk a bit higher but they are very early figures from very small sample. I thought his EPD figures were higher maybe you could give us an opinion if you looked up his EPD's.

I've seen a group of yearling bulls out of him a few years ago, nice group. For around here they wouldn't work, frame size and epds wouldn't let them qualify. That may work in your area, if Charlo works and is recieved well there then I'd guess N R would do fine.
I wouldn't mind having females out of him, bulls just wouldn't move.

What frame size were the bulls you saw? I will accept no less than a 5.0 but prefer a 5.5-6.0.

He has a great EPD the only holes I can find is his milk is too high for me and the $EN shows that, Sc is a little below average but not a problem. That's my :2cents: worth hope that helps

He is a really nice looking bull. He is very deep, has great length, and has a solid rear. Some of his daughters look a bit too angular in the rear for my liking though.

The ones Id seen were yearlings so still a little grow time, but from the group I'd say 5 to 5.5 tops when mature. With more 5's in the mix but they were thick and we'll made.
 
I do like the looks of the bull. I want a frame score between 5 and 6 and prefer a 5.5 which is just about perfect for me. His milk is high so I would have to be selective on his use. I have sure heard great things on his daughters.

We will be using home raised bulls. The last bull we purchased was Sinclair Rito 9R9 in 2010 we purchased this bull because we wanted to infuse genetics from the 707 line. In addition we had purchased Coleman EXT 6149 in 2009 a bull from the Donna cow family with a heavy EXT influence. We knew that these two genetic lines would work well with the Traveler, New Trend, Bando 598 influenced cows we had in our herd. So when we purchase we are always looking at the genetic make up of the bull as well as phenotype. These two bulls have done what we hoped for. This coming breeding season we will use the following home raised bulls:

The 1339 bull is out of a cow that we purchased back in 2004. I had tried to get a daughter out of 658's dam for five or six years. It wasn't until the dispersal sale that I was able to get one purchased for a price I could justify. We flushed this cow several times and like her mamma no matter how you mated her it worked. A cow that you can breed many different ways and it still works is in my opinion the mark of a good cow. We had four brothers out of this mating and kept one to use.

The B59 bull is a nice calf out of a Matrix daughter. We purchased his grand dam in 2003 as a heifer calf still on the side of her recip. and out of the Sinclair 9R9 bull we purchased in 2010. We will see how he does this year.

The Giz Rainmaker C37 7009 6169 was an embryo purchased from the Coleman program in MT. We wanted to add some of the Sitz Rainmaker 6169 genetics into the mix. His dam 7009 is a super nice cow.

So we do use our own bulls but that doesn't mean we don't use AI sires as well.
