thanks for all of the prayers so far from the ones that found my request in the other thread. I didn't want that thread to be Hijacked.

as of last night they transferred him to another hospital they are treating his head injury. He has some internal bleeding. He is coherent but does not remember anything that happened. He has several broken ribs also. I spoke with the other neighbor last night and he said it was like something you see on tv it all happened in a matter of a couple of seconds and in slow motion. The bull hooked him and tossed him in the air, they said he was at least 2ft above the 6’ panel in the cow lot and his head hit the top of the fence post then the bull stepped on him and kept mauling him until they drug him out of the lot. The old man wanted everyone to back away from the lot while he loaded the bull by himself, he had the bull for 9 years and considered him to be gentle when I have helped him with the bull years ago he was even tempered and handled easy. he entered the lot and turned his back to fasten the gate and the bull got him NEVER TURN YOUR BACK ON A 2000lb+ animal.

We shipped our bull this am. In the last couple of weeks he had started stalking and challenging us. He was not even 2 yrs old. He was shorthorn/jersey.

A good lesson for us all! We have all been told this so many times about bulls (especially the "Gentle" ones). Good thing he had people there to help out... how many times have we been around bulls when we are by ourselves??

Prayers for a speedy recovery for your neighbor!

I got stomped by a black Angus bull a year ago. Only three broken ribs.
Prayers sent for your neighbor.

Only? Broken ribs are very painful as I recall but you're right, could have been worse.

Yes, most painful injury i have had.
I lost my pants and jumped the fence twice to get away and then back home.
Very lucky he didn't step on my head or keep me from being able to get away.
