Need help with hay bails lbs

Ok I know I am new at growing hay but there is something I need help with I have looked but could not find any thing. My problem is out of 13 bails of KG hay my tractor was able to lift 10 of them and the other 3 are way to heavy to lift they all came from the same field and the same cut. But why can I not lift the other 3? all of the bails came from the same field, the same cut, and the same time. But they all are diff lbs why would that be?
 
So if she drove faster in one area it would be more, it did looked like she slow down in some of the areas due to the ground. that dose make sense, can balers from the early 2000 (New Holland) be adjustable with how tight or loose it rolls? and the moisture I looking back now I can see due to some of the rows were bigger and would hold more moisture in then the smaller areas.

what size bales are you talking about,an also what hp tractor are you trying to lift them with.i had a 2010 mx5100 hst 4x4 with fel that was lifting an hauling 5 by 6 bales that weighed 1800 to 2000lbs.an pulling a 4 bale hay hauler loaded.it was all the tractor wanted.so i traded it for a 7040 hydro shuttle 4x4 fel.its likely that she over filled a few of the hay bales.
 
YES I do need a bigger and stronger tractor right now I have a about early to mid 80's Allis-Chalmers the owner lost the paperwork and it dose not say on it and it is (the owner say) 54 Hp. It works ok for the most part BUT no where as it should. The 10 bails I was able to lift but the last 3 I could not. But I now know why thanks. Oh the bails are 5x6

You could have a problem with the hydraulics, or a weak cylinder or two, or weak pump. That tractor should lift a tight 5x6 bale just fine. Are you picking it up with a rear spear or loader? Usually the rear lift will pick up more because you dont have the weight of the loader and no leverage, at least mine will.

I did not even think of that :bang: do to it did pick the others up I will have the hydraulics checked out asap thanks. I have the hay spear attached to the front loader bucket that is on the main hydraulic system

Do you have one of those spears that attaches out in front of the existing loader bucket? If so then that reduces the lifting capacity of the loader dramatically.

If they weigh that much 90% of these 18 wheelers hauling hay or extremely overweight.

your right TB an heres something else to think about the semi riggs hauling 4 by 6 bales are over weight as well.because they can haul 36 to 40 bales 18 to 20 tons at 1000lb bales.now add another 200lbs to the same bales an your running right at 24 tons or more.
