Need a good dog name

Roscoe P Coltrane (from Dukes of Hazard) - Roscoe for short.
Fido.
Ralph.
Duke.
Rex.
Or you could name him Barney, as in Frank, if you don't like him much.

I've got a horse named Rastus or that might be the name. Beavis was one of our first choices but I get tired of everyone begging me to say"hey, beavis" over and over again because I sound just like Butthead. Everyone's got a talent if you look hard enough  .
He's black enough to be a barak but he doesn't have enough ear on him and he seems to have a good head on his shoulders so that won't work.
I'm leaning heavily towards John Doe so I can leave these great suggestion open for future animals.
Thanks all for the great suggestions!

Zeke is a good name for a pooch.

BTW for what it's worth my dog's full name while ignoring me in the field is BELLA!!!! YOU NO GOOD SOB!!!! Especially when she chases a rabbit.

Had a "Barney Frank" bull many years ago...Queer as a $3.00 bill. :lol2:

My Papaw had one of those bulls when I was growing up. He just wasn't right. Lasted about 2 weeks on the ranch the best I remember.

Don't know if any of yall ever watch Pawn Stars on the History Channel, but we have a little Boston Terrier stray that we took in, and we named him Chumlee cause he acts just like the guy Chumlee on that show. Aint got a lick of sense. He's always getting into trouble doing stupid stuff and we have to holler at him like that old man does at Chumlee on the show. He drives us crazy sometimes, but you can't help but love the little guy.

Thanks all for the sugestions. Dog won't work... That is his daddies' name. Maybe Dog the Bounty Hunter :D
I like Awnold but I hoping that he'll turn out a little better for me than his namesake did.
I tend to cuss at my dogs quite a bit and I have a family with Frank the first, second, and third, that I trade off work with and they're all quite a bit bigger than me. No Frank.
I told my wife that if I couldn't find the perfect name by the end of the week his name is John Doe.

Well, if you're considering Bounty Hunter, how 'bout Rooster Cogburn? Or "the dog with no name", as in "the man with no name" (Eastwood, or Clint the saddle tramp)? Really, naming a dog, or any animal for that matter, is usually a project more easily completed after a few stiff drinks :D

I had dog named Clinton when I was a kid. I like this thread; makes me sit here and try to remember all my dogs names. Clifford, Shep, Baron, Rascal, Buckwheat, Nosmo King (I seen a no smoking sign when I was just learning to read, and pronounced it Nozmo King. Dad thought it was funny, and remembered it. When we got a male and female pair of redbones, they were Nosmo King and Poly Ester)
How about Supertramp?

 That's what I was hoping for.
One of the best cowdogs I've had was given to me as a two year old because the owner couldn't handle him. I named him Curiosity because the first thing he did when they dumped him in my front yard was kill a cat. :D
