the difference between them is the House of Commons is where the Govermant and the oppersition, sit and debate the laws of the land and make new rulings, then it is put the House of Lords if they agree it then it is taken to the Queen by the Prime Mininster and if she accepts it then the Law or Bill is passed. There is a lot more to it, but that is basically it. and the seats in the House of Lords is Green and in the Commons it is Blue

Benny Hill was not my kind of humour but many people did like him and he was very popular in his day.

finally Prince Charles, a lot of people are saying he should be looked over for Prince William to come to the throne, why he is so named is an accient tradition, something about the last Queen of Wales not having children, and so the Queen of England gave her one of hers and the Oldest son becomes the Prince of Wales. not sure if this is true but it is a folklore passed down the generations.

Can countryside still be purchased easily in England, or is it all owned by old families and royalty. If it can, does it cost an arm and a leg (a meer flesh wound to some... :lol: )

Back in the late 70's, I had the pleasure to visit your country, twice. Both times while in London I went to a fabulous pub called "The Green Man and The French Horn". That was the first time I had ever had kidney-pie and loved it! Is that pub still there?

Regarding the Tower of London and the ravens, is it true that due to the concern for avian flu,(I believe its the H5N1 flu virus) that the birds are no longer allowed to "roam" freely around that vicinity?

Is it also true that people visiting Stonehenge are no longer allowed to go up to and touch the stones? (When I visited there, that was an awesome site.)

Pub life is great - Stonehenge is now off limits. I just figured it was a pile of rock - but some folks were chipping pieces of to take home.

There are so many pubs in London you would have to provide an address.
