They need a lot of feed. Under all the hair there is not much flesh. Other than that, they are just ok.

are they really that bad? :cry: gosh i paid 3,000 dollars for the shorthorn!! 2500 for the other two. plz tell me its just the pics!! :cry: :frowns:
 
There not bad they just are really green and need a lot of time on feed. It looks like you may have just got them so that would be the reason there green. Just get them on a good show grower/starter ration. I think you may need to post somemore pic's. clip all three calves out the three of them out after you get them rollin on there feet, I think by then it will be easyer to tail. GOOD LUCK

The calves aren't that bad, but the pictures are really bad. From what I can tell, the Hereford is the better of the two heifers. The Shorthorn doesn't appear to have enough guts.
It's certainly not easy to see what's really there because of the crazy angles, but I don't see much show future in the steer. Try a steer finisher ration on all three and push them hard for two or three months, and then take some better pictures.

yeah i really did pay for those calves.......out of my own savings acount too :roll:

and we did just get them. ill weigh how much feed i give them and get some better pics. ill admit they do look really thin but there not at all!! the shorthorn is from k-kim cattle company out of pickrell nebraska http://www.k-kimcattle.com. sire is dgs gold 002 from red dean farms. and dam is k-kim johanna 949. and for my steer he is really fat i just got a bad angle. more pic tomarrow I PROMISE!!
 
They look like they could be some nice animals if clipped and fed right but from the pictures, I really don't believe that the steer was worth 3000, especially since it is just going to be slaughter animal. But the other two look alright, I like the hereford better. Can't tell that much from the pics though.
 
How much do they weigh and what is the age of the steer. I don't think he looks very fat at all, they have a lot of hair.

What's the breeding on the heifer? I don't mind her.
 
idk weights for sure but weigh in for 4-h is the 20th so ill kno then. yeah its real cold here so im glad that they have alot of hair. which heifer are you talkin bout?
 
Hate to say it but I think you got taken to the cleaners if you really paid that for those cattle, I've sold better cattle at the sale barn. All you can do now is feed them and pray!
