If I didn't know any better I would think that this cow is neglected. She's had 23 calves so far in her lifetime and has another on the way. She on good hay and also gets about a gallon of feed a day. She's earned her spot in the pasture. Just thought I'd share a picture of a good cow.

Highgrit, I could get some pictures of cows that truly are neglected. But I wonder what the owners would think if they saw me out in their pasture taking pictures. May not think real highly of it.

Sounds like she's been a dandy, and earned a little pampering. Hope he's kept some heifers out of her .

I think that is the oldest cow still producing calves that I have ever seen.
That is great!
Just gotta say it........"Bless her heart"!

Wow I'd have her mounted and on the wall when she finally passed on

I should of added this to the first post. The real kicker is she was bought at the sale barn. She was a skinny first calf heifer and she sold for $350.00. for the pair.

Not many will believe it ... Sale barn cattle are all rejects and good for nothing but slaughter is what most believe. The secrets out HG now I will never be able to get a cheap heifer again since theres proof there are good cows at a sale barn.

Lot a difference between south ga and Canada Aaron. Some times an old cow that produce 15 or 20 good calves gets a pass. Your quick to judge when you don't have a clue how things are done down here.

23 Years ago 350 wasn't all that cheap.

We bought bred heifers in 1992, and they were $1000 a piece, so $350 for a pair was cheap back then too... remember this is before BSE!
