Thanks I am real proud of this years loads.
I put in 258 head had zero deathloss and only 5 got sick(and they weren't bad). I only had two that I culled- one had a bad growth on its ear and the other turned into a little short butterball. I am going to eat those two.

just a real nice uniform set of animals.good job and what a good yr to have such a set with the high prices.
 
I weighed them 20 days ago- and with a full belly they averaged 2.2 lbs/day. I expect when they ship out(empty) and I take a 2% pencil shrink it will be right at 2 lbs/day gain-- right on my target.
 
There was a local video sale today- mine sell tomorrow

Heres todays ave sale results (as they would relate to my loads)

750 lbs $1.30
850lbs $1.29
890lbs no test

For east coast prices- those are UNHEARD of :) :) :)
I used to(for years) could take Ok sales results- find the average for like cattle and subtract .10 and thats what I could expect for a load.
Last month it was down to .06
This week its down to taking off .04

All I can come up with is the shortage of calves is narrowing the advantage- they are going to pay what they have to pay to get cattle no matter what it costs to haul them around.

Good for you. It's always good to see folks get paid for their hard work.
 
They were all bulls that we cut--
I have never been able to pencil out back grounding heifers over bulls/steers.
