You only need to go to that site, register, and the system will email a password to you – which you normally would change the first time you log in to the system. Then you are all set to bid on any animal that you just can’t live without!!
This software is a “canned” program and it has some text and other features that are not applicable to our use. For instance, our program is only for our MGIA members to sell animals, so the feature that says, for example, “list an item” will not work for registered users. That is because our system is only set up for our members to sell animals, so the “administrator” of the site(me) is the only person
that lists the animals for sale. At the bottom of the description of each offering is listed the name and contact info for the actual seller of the animal/item; so you can give the seller a call or send an email if you want more information about the offering, or to discuss delivery options,etc.
There are also some explanations about fees that do not apply to our situation. There’s no cost to buyer or seller for this auction service. You will note that the “statistics” box shows that 2 items had been sold…wrong! I was practicing
with the software and it rang up those figures, but I have been unable to reset it to zero. Nothing has been sold at this point.
An effort was made to have each animal’s listing expire in about 5 minute intervals, i.e. the first bull’s listing will expire first – then the rest of the bulls in sequence. Then the next category of animals would start expiring on the 18th. But remember, we do have “sniper protection”; i.e. each item will end at an absolute time OR 15 minutes after the last bid, whichever is longer. We are trying for staggered ending times so that people who are interested in more than one animal can keep up with the bids. Not everyone wants to put in the automatic “maximum” bid feature – but it is handy when needed.
Take a look! You will surely find something that belongs in your herd! :D
