MRI

You have to hold a couple handles near your face and it only goes around about 2/3 of the way. It's pretty fast and like you said, the images are super cool.

Yes, I did have to hold a couple of handles. The resolution on the pics was great!

Being a small guy in my younger days I was always the one sent into the tight dark places. Have had a couple of these things with no problems. I'm just laying htere trying to figure out what that thing is doing and how it does it.

I had one before my back surgery. Lucky only took 20 mins it was loud, hot and very boring in there. Don't know if that was a cd or what, but if I ever had to do it again I would rather have sports talk or a comedian than listen to music. Had to have a CAT scan for blood clots when I was in the hospital at Thanksgiving and that was a lot better than the MRI. Only thing about the CAT is the dye they put in you makes you feel weird.

I had a CT scan and the dye didn't do anything for me. I was kind of disappointed b/c I had always heard it had a weird effect. I guess you can't win them all.

Had a CT once...die simply made me feel warm all over. No "buzz" if that's what you mean.

The first one I had a felt warm and like I had peed my pants. The latest one, nothing at all.

Had to have an MRI on my shoulder a while back. Technician went through everything and I went to get into the machine. Have never been claustrophobic but it just came over me, told her to get me out. Sat up on the table and wondered why I was panting, lady was very good about it and sympathetic. I sat there for a little while and thought this is nuts suck it up and do it. So I told her I am going to lay down and send me in, if I press the button get me out immediately or I will come out on my own. I laid down closed my eyes and imagined myself laying out in the pasture looking up at a blue sky with clouds. Kept imaging clouds floating by that were pretty and every once in a while one of the pet bovines would look down at me with a look of what are you doing!!! Your burning daylight!!! Went ok as long as my eyes were shut and my mind working

I got the results back a little while ago. The good news is that there are no torn ligaments or tendons. The bad news is that my foot is getting worse. I have a deformity where my heel and talus (bone at the top of the foot that body rests on) are fused. It causes me to have no balance, and my foot is sliding out from under my body.

This is what my foot looks like.

This is how it's going to be fixed. 6-8 weeks of nonweight bearing activity and then relearning how to walk. Ugh.
