So we moved the cows from the front pasture to the upstream pasture. There is 100 cows, 80 fall calves, and 14 young spring calves. The only issue was as you come out the gate on to the driveway the cows need to take a hard left and cross the bridge. It appeared that the lead cows didn't want to cross the bridge. So we had cows going up the hill to the county road. We had cows taking a left and headed out the driveway. We had cows turning back and running into the field. We even had some calves who were late comers to the bridge running across it. Of course they decided they were in the wrong place and ran back. Twenty minutes later 2 cowboys horseback, 2 on quads, and 4 dogs we had all the cows where they were supposed to go. Just as I came down off the road with the last cows in front of me there was a semi load of hay coming up the road. I am sure glad it wasn't 10 minutes sooner. Plan A started good. We ended up with the results of plan A. But in the middle we had 20 minutes of mass confusion and panic.
