I have a cow that walks or stands around with it's mouth open like it has something stuck in it's mouth. I have had a vetinary check it and she has no fever, and no obstructions in her mouth that we could see. However in watching her, I have noticed that her hair is very coarse and longer than the other cows. She is off feed. She tries to eat, but does very little. I have seen her drink but I don't think that she is drinking a lot. When she urinates it is very little compared to the other cows. The vet did not think that she has wooden tongue. Is she defficient in minerals? They have free choice mineral salt and fresh water. The feed is chopped praire hay and cane with some chopped alfalfa.
The Vet said to watch her for possible rabies. Not sure what to do.
