Mosquito's

I went outside and was working on fixing a fence a limb fell on and mosquitos tore me up. I was wondering does anyone have any suggestions on controlling mosquitos. They are bad at my house which is only 300 yards away I did order some stuff that worked till a hard rain it was garlic juice that you mixed with water and sprayed over your yard. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I could do to help control population or is there an trap of some sort that attracts them to like a bait station ? I am thinking about no kidding buying about 15-20 bug zappers and put around my barn and yard the bugs this year are ridiculous I have never seen it like this before.

Nope, maybe you should plant your yard full of garlic. It will keep the vampires away anyhow.

I have yet to find a bug zapper that will last very long around here. Burned the grid up on the last one we had--couldn't keep it cleaned out and it fried itself.

:lol: I wish I could plant the whole yard in garlic... lol man I thought my bug problem was bad I have never heard of one of them getting that dirty

Don't know if this works but I'm gonna try it. My daughter sent it to me after she seen the bee trap(got Design from here) Had actually caught some bees.

I watched a dude put some cheesy made in China bought at TS purple Martin house together the other week and was surprised how quick the Martins found it. I hear they can eat ALOT of skeeters!

If you think you got skeeter's you need to vacation in Jefferson or Chambers counties in Texas.

Every little town has that truck here, I thought that was normal for everywhere. It's like a movie late in the evening you can hear them coming before you see or feel them.

Got airplanes spraying in parishes that will put up the money. Anything that will get rid of them is worth the money.

Mosquitos are so big here that yesterday I was out working on a fence when I heard them coming over the hill.......as they got closer one said to the other...."should we eat him here or carry him off?".............I took off running and got under one of those huge cast iron kettles that I keep around for cooking big stews and such. Anyway, they kept boring their bills right through that cast iron. Fortunately I still had my fencing hammer in my hand and I was able to break their bills off from under the kettle. Eventually they determined that I wasn't worth getting a short bill over so they carried off one of my cows instead :bs: :bs: :bs: :bs: :bs: :bs: :mrgreen: :tiphat:

I had one for awhile. It stayed full of mosquito larvae and the adults were so thick they ran the birds off from it.

Get a thermacell, they work! If you are pretty stationary like when turkey hunting, fishing or sitting on the porch they are great. They have 2 types one for hunting and fishing and the other looks like a small lantern for a more decorative look for use at the house or camping. Everyone uses them down here.

Deep I do have a thermacell but I was working and moving around so that wouldnt have helped unfortunately. Hoss that was funny.

Ha, it works better if you put a fountain in it. Helps wash out the bird turds, too.
