More rain

Got 3 inches yesterday and its pouring again.
We are set for the rest of the calf season. My cows have been stuck in the back pastures, where some of the front pastures they have not been in for over a month. One small 50 acreish pasture has had over 50 cows+ big calves in it for 3 weeks...
If this is global warming, i'm all for it.... No winter, no summer...just fall and spring..

4" already this month, here N. of Dallas and that was before the 15th.... and this is August. Reminds me of the year I built my house (1979). I picked August realizing how tough it would be working in August but figured it'd be dry and I could get it weathered in before it got wet. Wrong!!! Rained on me 3 times and soaked the insulation I had put under the floor requiring me to crawl along underneath and slit the vapor barrier every 5-6' to let the water out. Guess it didn't hurt the house proper. Still living in it.

It has rained almost every day for two weeks. And looks like it will continue for a while. We need to cut hay fields and clip pastures. But cannot on account of tearing up the ground.

Im not really mad at it though. Last Fall was terrible. Im hoping we wont have to feed until January or later. Big hopes...

Our 50 acre field has been baled twice before I put cows in it. Its wonderful. This time last year I was having to check ponds twice a day. Our ponds are overflowing, IN AUGUST!!! It effin incredible...

Update. As of half an hour ago, it's now 8" for the month of August..........the hot-dry month. But that's ok even if I do have to go out in the pasture and pick up the fish that went over the spillway...those that are left after the kill off (lost 30 of my biggest bass) due to the weather just before this recent break.

You can see it However you wanna see it. We share pics all the time here. 50 on 50 that's pretty good stocking rate. Nice even numbers to.

Actually, last week it was 55, I moved 10 yearling heifers to another pasture, currently it is 45. Would you like a pic of each individual one? Better yet, would you like to wager on whether they're on it?

Not necessarily. Thought it might be nice to see your operation. I'm not sure why you would be so sensitive about it. Your the one that commented on your good grazing.

I've never had grass or hay like I have now. We fertilize according to the soil samples yearly and this year with the rain we've had the pasture growth is unbelievable. And to think in May I was culling cows because of the lack of grass.

Watching a TD in moving westward towards the gulf....Our weather forecast depends on what this system will do. Will it drift out into the gulf? Will it do like the last and drift over Mexico? All depends on the cold fronts...timing is everything..Could mean a lot of rain for Texas...just what we need in a week or two..

Not me I stay so busy now doing nothing that I can't keep up. I can't go to the mountains next week because I need to cut hay before I go up north for Labor day weekend. Dang cows can really cramp your style.
My son is in the gulf fishing so we keep tabs on all storms. Fishermen and farmers are weather watchers.
