More Horse Abuse

Just saw this on a local newscast, its almost exactly like the one last week.


JACKSON, Ohio (WSAZ)--Sheriff Deputies in Jackson County, Ohio are investigating massive horse neglect and abuse.

Investigators say it’s on a farm located in the southern part of the county.

Deputies tell us they seized more than 20 horses from the farm Tuesday night and found another 28 horse graves.

We’re told 52 counts of animal cruelty are being filed against the current owner of the horses. The owner of the farm died a year ago.

Since then, his adult son, who lives in Kentucky, was supposed to be caring for the horses. However, neighbors said they haven't seen him for more than a month.

A local vet has evaluated the surviving horses. The Sheriff's Department, in conjunction with the Jackson County Humane Society have placed the horses in the care of local volunteers.

dang people like that make me madd.if they are abusing horses then they have no business with them.when things get rough the horses are the 1s that suffer.

28 horse grave? Even if the neglect and abuse is wrong its just plain stupid not to sell the god damn things and make some money off of them.

Here's part of the local scenario. We have folks that cant take care of themselves, and they hoard animals from Dogs to Cats to Horses.They get arrested for Animal Abuse, and probably would be in less trouble for a murder.

Cattle Hand there is no money in the horse market, unless you are breeding high end registered pedigreed horses with a big reputation, the horse market has fallen flat on its face. these days, if you cant feed them or just plain dont want them, you need to give them away, PETA didnt want anyone to ever slaughter a horse so how come they aint taking them all in and feeding them when the rest of them cant? ..... this is getting to be a more and more common problem these days. I would give mine away before I let them starve.
