Big Bad Gov wants Arkansas Land

HIGH ALERT: The Ozarks is a Prime Target for Land Confiscation
a.k.a. Critical Habitat Designation

Property owners: beware! Once again, there could be another land grab attempt in our Ozark area.

We have warned you about this before. This time, the U.S. House Natural Resources Committee will be holding an oversight field hearing on May 14, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in Batesville.

Entitled "Protecting the Rights of Property Owners: Proposed Federal Critical Habitat nations Gone Wild", the hearing will address the proposed designation of a critical habitat for the Neosho muckets and the rabbitsfood mussels. We have learned that the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has re-opened public comments about this issue.

From the Natural Resources web page:

"According to the Association of Arkansas Counties (AAC), the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s proposed rule will designate a total of 769.2 river miles in Arkansas as critical habitat for Neosho muckets and rabbitsfoot mussels. The proposed critical habitat designations will directly impact 31 Arkansas counties and the targeted watershed will cover approximately 42% of the entire geographical area of Arkansas.

The AAC’s members are concerned that the “proposed critical habitat designation will result in costly and disruptive impacts that may or may not produce corresponding benefits, in part because so little is known about the specific habitat requirements for these species. The Arkansas Environmental Federation, the Arkansas Association of Conservation Districts and the Arkansas Farm Bureau have concerns as well."
(Keep in mind, the Arkansas Association of Counties wants to COMPROMISE on this issue. Compromise is NOT what's needed here.)

Did you notice the amount of affected Arkansas rivers? Almost 800 miles! And the watershed will affect over 40% of our state! It's our understanding that the Association of Arkansas Counties (AAC), the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce, the Arkansas Legislature, and Governor Mike Beebe, as well as all 6 members of the Arkansas congressional delegation, have asked for a smaller protection zone for these freshwater mussels.

A "smaller protection zone"?? What does that mean? Why would our governor or congressional delegation or our legislature be supporting this? Give them an inch, and they'll take a mile. What these groups don't seem to grasp is that we understand U.N. Agenda 21 and how land can be confiscated under the guise of environmental protections. We know that this critical habitat designation will lead to heavy restrictions on how businesses may function and how property owners may use the water.

Fishermen, swimmers, if this area is designated as a critical habitat, you might not be able to enter these designated areas or water your livestock. The title of the hearing itself is laughable: the rights of property owners will be gone, not "protected"! This looks like a version of the WHITE RIVER BLUEWAY designation all over again. Get prepared to fight for your property rights. If our ability to access and use our rivers and streams as we should be able to is restricted or blocked, property owners are doomed.

The hearing is open to the public. Your voice needs to be heard, and your presence is needed!

When: May 14, 2014 at 10:00 a.m.
Where: University of Arkansas Community College
Independence Hall

Sounds like its a done deal they are just having meetings to justify what they are doing. Here they are buying properties along the river but it is taking all these properties off the tax role which hurts us all. Also they are paying 5 times what its worth so it makes the taxes higher for the rest of us.

One of the big dogs with a government wildlife agency is a silent partner in a company that is buying up a certain type of land that is suitable for the gopher tortoise. Companies now will voluntarily move the turtles to proper habitat when they are doing construction. Its al voluntary now but I foresee just before this guy retires from his government job this will somehow become law and you will have to pay rent for the turtle like you do for other things. Now I'm sure this fella is just doing all this because he cares about the turtle.

I don't think its a done deal yet Kenny. Lots of us around here have had our fill of the feds and there high handed ways. Our state Government killed the libs Blue Ways project on the White River last year. Cattlemans Ass. was at the meeting to day have word threw the grapevine they done a good job for Cattlemen and Farmers today. We will see what comes of it.

From doing a little looking around today the rivers here where they are declining are the ones with lots of tourist traffic. But you can bet according the government its us farmer and cattle causing the problem.

We have a group from Arkansas who are going Hurley.

Do you think that Colonel Riley would have your best interest at heart when they take over. Will he dictate to the leaders that he appoints as the saviors of the country at the point of a gun. Just saying the the devil we know might be better than the devil we do not know.

I don't know anything about this but I do know that it only takes the voices and concerns of 1% of the population to get the people in Washington to take some sort of action. If people remain mute then they continue business as usual and we cannot continue on this course. Its just not sustainable. It WE the people not THEY the government.

I think he said a unarmed protest Hurley. You can keep your devil if you like him. Me I will take my chances with a new one. Apparently you was not looking when the feds was in Waco a few years ago or at Ruby Ridge or the Bundy Ranch in Nevada.....

How many showed up Friday. Inquiring minds would like to know. Rumor is the government has picked them
up and put them in the FEMA camps that Beck found and posted a few years ago. May be the ones that are the most opinionated will be sent to the gas chamber that Beck found in California.

I don't know how many showed up Hurley. I got to make a living for my self and a few others, so I don't got time to keep track of this as much as I would like. I do know this if the feds do what they are trying to do in my first post I we be put out of business. National Park Service has wanted control of the water shed into the buffalo river for a long time. There is only a small bit of private land in the valley where I live, and its a major feeder stream to the river. So if some group that supports the Constitution of the United States is giving the Government some Shi%% its ok with me. The enemy of my enemy today is my friend.

Let me guess, you don't believe that the VA in Arizona has a list of sick veterans that they kept hid to make it look like they were doing a good job, or that health care will be rationed when all are on the government plan.

Question Hurley, has the US government ever imprisoned thousands of its own citizens against their Constitutional rights when they've been guilty of nothing?

I do not know of any. Name some of the thousands for me. There is an investigation going on at the moment about the VA hospital, I will wait to read their finding and then place blame. I know some veterans here in my area that have used the VA facilities and said that they had a good experience.

Google Camp Amache. Funny how those darned facts just keep messing up that liberal agenda ain't it!

Oooo... I know the answer....pick me!!!

Hurley, sorry but your answer was wrong. Yes, the Gov't has done just that. Over 60,000 US citizens were imprisoned thru executive order. No charges, No trial, No appeals, No representation.
