One more time. Critique this heifer.
DOB, 9/15/05. 3/4 Maine-Anjou, Polled. Approx. 700lbs.

I appreciate the comments so far from the first post, but don't get the one about not enough length of body, and too short in the neck for a breeding heifer. She is more than adequate in both areas. She could use more spring of rib, and does need more depth of flank. Both of these should come with age, based of the cow lineage.

We won't be Showing her, but she will be shown by someone. My Showgirls grew up, got married and moved out of State. I just sell 'em all as Show Calves now.

In my opinion, she could use more length of body for a good breeding heifer. She narrows as you reach her stifle. It's not her length of neck, she lacks femininity. Her head/neck is blocky, more masculine. As she finishes, I think she might become wastey in her brisket. I think she would do better as a market heifer. It'll be interesting to see how she develops.

She is really green. Get some condition on her and put a good clip job on her and she will look alot different. I don't really care for her underline and I think she could be smoother jointed. That all can change with a clip job.
 
I'm in agreement with cowboy. I think she has plenty of length there, nice level topline, decent bone and structure...as others have pointed out she's really green, but if I try to picture her several hundred pounds heavier when she's ready to show, I like the results. Give us some more pictures in a few more months as she grows. :)
 
We can all find things wrong with any animal. This looks like a good heifer to me. I see alot more right with her than wrong. I'd like to see more photos as she grows. :)

With this gas at $2.95/gallon - that heifer would be an expensive young lady ! It's a long haul from WV to OK.
Last time I was in OKC I was in a airplane. Think they'd let me put her in the overhead compartment ?
Real nice heifer - gonna make some good calves.

I agree with rustler, more good points than bad in this little girl. I would say she loses depth there throught the flank, but I think those criticising her should be looking past the hair and rawness of the heifer- she's not a heifer that's had any preparation. I much prefer to see an animal like this... more real.
Anyway, good heifer and I think she should do well!

I like her! I think her length of body, neck and front end along with nice top, bone and looks like she is good on her feet are her strong points.

If I could change her I would want to see some more volume to her, little deeper in flank and ribs. But once she gets up there around 1,000 pounds she might be adequate in those areas.

What is her lineage?

The heifer is an Ice Pick X Simm/Maine (Maternal Grand Dam is Kalli). She will register 3/4 Maine-Anjou, born 9/15/05. Today she weighs approx. 700lbs. She has been on feed for 45 days, and is consuming 25lbs./day of show ration. She is 2-3 months behind where I would like to have her, due to back surgery I had in February.
