For Milkmaid, the Holsteins:
Two Hereford heifers, owner wanted to breed one, she was in heat yesterday, think he missed that window:
One of the 4H animals, a CharXAngus, beautifully groomed I thought:
For Jeanne in NY, a Simmental heifer:
I think the Tarentaise has beautiful eye markings; never realized what a big cow this is!
For Running Arrow Bill, a Peruvian Paso:
Kids (and a couple of parents) getting ready this afternoon:
This little girl was practicing before her showmanship class. She did a great job; her grandmother was so worried that she would get injured in the ring.
I thought the 4H judge was terrific! He spent a lot of time with each class, no 'quick and dirty' here, he had those kids answering questions, moving their animals all around the ring, gave a lot of encouragement and feedback, helping when needed, and each child had a chance to shine.
