Moonshiners

I've been wanting to watch it but I keep missing it. The notoriety from the show was part of his downfall. He was a very unique individual. I'm glad Hank Williams Jr. stepped in to help his wife out and get the recipe flowing again only legally. One day I intend to do a pilgrimage to his grave site. I just gotta see that in person.

Yeah they sentenced him to six months. He had terminal cancer so he made his grave marker and built his own casket and killed himself with carbon monoxide. The ATF agent that arrested him is famous. He's the same sob that burned up all those women and children in Waco a few years ago.

That I did notice. All this is just 2 hours or so from here.

Just another waste of tax dollars if you ask me. I gotta hand it to Hank Williams Jr. and the other country singers who banded together for support of his family. Heck, George Washington made 17,000 gallons of rye whiskey the last year he made it. I don't see anyone burning down his home or calling him a criminal do you? Ok, maybe a few brits. ;-) :lol2:

Thought I was the only one that rememberd or thought of it in this way.

Popcorn... that's a name you don't forget but I can't say that I recall everything about the documentary I watched. I've heard it sure doesn't take much of that. :cowboy:

We've seen a couple of episodes of the show, but what we can't figure out is how any of these guys (the 'shiners') agreed to be filmed. How can that be done without them being arrested?

I know that none of the folks in my neck of the woods wouldn't participate in anything that put their faces on TV while making "the recipe".

And GW was tough on the "whiskey rebellion" as president. I guess he didn't mind cheating the crown but took a different attitude after he became the authority.

Maybe TV pays better than 'shine. This show seems to be a recreation of events which doesn't appeal to me.

Its only that one man and "tickle" (i think he is the taste tester). And that ATF agent. The man is wanting to go legal. I kinda like the show and that popcorn is something else! His character is shown on you tube when he is being interviewed by johnny knoville

Because it's all B.S. I watched it for the first and last time last night. I agree about Mr. Sutton but the rest of the show is pretty lame and actually an insult to the trade.

We were kinda thinking that perhaps its 'staged' or 'scripted' to an extent.
