Got me a doe on the first day of the "special" Christmas hunt around here.
She & two other does came out with 4 bucks, she circled closest to me. and I nailed her with my .270
The bucks just stood there, until I got down out of my deer stand.. then they took off to the north.
I must say.. she is mighty tender... for a big gal.

Bad day at Black Rock .
It was 28 deg here this morning got in the stand before daylight.
Bout 8:30 an old doe walk's out in a clear spot in the wood's about 80 yard's from me.
I picked up my rifle to take her out and the back sight on my William's Fire sight was gone.
Holy crap it's gone was there yesterday, now I am PO'd big time at myself wondering how I have done this.
Got my shotgun but she doesn't get ant closer than 60 yard's and goes back under cover.
Now with a modern shotgun I would have busted her like about 40 yards with a smokepole scatter gun.
When I got to the house I ordered a new set of sight's online.
I can't go for the next two day's as I am having nerve blocks in my low back in the morning.
You can bet your ass Thursday morning I will be in the woods with my old Knight rifle.
I pulled the 50 cal TC Hawken off the gun rack as well just hard for old eyes to see the back sight's like they used to.
I just like hunting the CVA as it can use Blackhorn 209 the clean up is a breeze.
