Anyone have a sure fire method to getting rid of moles? We have a colony that I think is living under our house. I can see all there entrance holes up beside the back of our house, probably 10-15 holes.

There is a large plant called a mole plant that they hate and won' t stay anywhere near them.
Or you can get a little ratter dog- mine cleaned up our mole problem- the yard looked rough for a little while :)

My mother has spent her life controlling moles. Poison, traps, pitchforks, etc. Now, she has a heeler dog (stole him from me) and her problems are history.
I have a labrador who hunts moles. Trouble is, he digs up 5 gallons of dirt for one mole.
I'd go with the heeler (Red Australian Shepherd) because he leaves a much smaller divot.

It will be rather difficult as some of the holes are under the house but i'm sure if you try this method a couple of times you will eventually eradicate all of them.I got rid of them with one treatment but then they were not under my house.
Buy an insecticide fumigant like QuickPhos(tablets).
They do much or their burrowing at night, close/smooth down all holes that you can see in the late afternoon.
Very early next morning(before any activity),crunch up some newspaper to use as plugs and start with the 'new' holes closest to the house working out-you want to trap any that may be in the tunnel before they get back under the house or before they can block off their tunnel.
What you do is open hole quickly, pop a fumitab into hole and quickly plug with newspaper.Treat each hole.Work quietly,especially with the holes closest to the house,you don't want them running back under the house.
Repeat the next day if you see any more activity(new holes).

In my area, moles are normally problematic in yards that are fertilized. Fertilization tends to green up the yard but it also creates wonderful habitat for mole crickets. Since moles are carnivorous the increased numbers attract the moles to the lawn. An application of Mocap 10G to the lawn late in the afternoon will remove the food source and send the buggers packing.

The most simple cost effective remedy I know is sprinkle the cheapest granulated "Scented" cat litter on your yard.The Moles will up and leave. A 80 year old woman taught me this cure several years ago,and it really works.
