...'ol 311 calved this morning, nice BIG healthy bull calf. I only got back home from college yesterday afternoon, so she just barely waited for me to come back. LOL, I wasn't sure I was going to make it back in time. Spit him out this morning while I was at church... she was grazing when I left and the lil bugger was all dried off by the time I got back. Can't complain.

Still a little shocked by his entrance to the world...

he's pretty much got an all-you-can-eat buffet there :lol2:

Nice calf MM ! That cow looks like she could handle about three more . I would say that is "all you can eat" .

she sure did throw a nice looking bull calf thats for sure.an yes she needs 3 or 4 more calves on her with that bagg full of milk.heck the way she looks she might even could go back to the dairy.unless she has the bad mastitis.

Yep it's sure good to be back home.

I'm planning to put 3 more calves on 311 and try milking her by hand 2x/day as well... she's a 90lb cow when she's fresh and the only alternative is sending her back to the dairy for a few months and trading her for a lower producer. I'd rather not if I don't have to.

Good timing! Nice looking calf. Wonder what he'll think of having to share his 'buffet' LOL there's plenty to go around.
Have fun with the hand milking. It'll build those hands, wrists and forearms, I know it does mine.

Excellent homecoming present. BTW, did you have any trouble getting to board your plane without your license and all? My mom just got back from Greece and she said customs was really strict. I guess that is good.

Jo, I didn't have any problems. Little extra screening at some airports, but mostly because for part of the trip I was flying standby -- on a buddy pass. I guess they considered a college ID a "government issued ID".
