Mites?

My cows are looking pretty shabby. They are scratching on everything they can. We are just about to start calving any day and didn't know if I should try to treat them or wait until the calves are dropped. Any suggestions? I've tried to included a pic of one that is looking shabby but it appears to be a no go. Anyway they are missing hair in patches. Some of the cows are missing more than others and some are missing none, but it appears to be on most.

Mine contracted lice last year and looked exactly like you explained yours to look. Ivomec!
