Mitch

I voted for him. He is a talented politician and a traditionalist in regard to how the senate should work. I caught enough of his re-election campaign as a resident of Kentucky to realize that he is a pragmatist. I was captured by his sense of logic.

I think our expectations for fixing the mess this country is in are too unrealistic. The state of affairs in the US are the result of a century of poor leadership. It cannot be fixed overnight. The tea party movement reminds me of a divorce. When you sit down to divide assets, one party uses it as a forum to tell the other party all the injustices they have had to endure. The injustices may be entirely true but you don't get anywhere in getting the assets divided.

I think ole Mitch just wants to get the assets divided. He understands what is realistic and what is not. For example, he knows this country runs on barrowed money. It is going to require 20 years of retooling our economy before it can run without an infusion of barrowed money. Many of the tea party followers have no clue!
