Had a cow off mineral for a few days while I was grafting a calf on to her (she lost her twins). I let her into my bull pen with some dry hay and she got into the mineral tub (no protein) crystalyx IGR tub with a salt block and gobbled up all the rain water that collected in it. Now she's had ultra watery poop the last couple of days. Acting 100% other than that. Eating fine. Raising her grafted calf fine. Head up. Alert. Physically looks normal.

Every seen a salt/mineral binge do that?

normal IMO , just a shock to her system. Think about it this way , Your wife lays a bag of prunes on the table and they taste so good you eat the whole thing. what do you think is gonna happen the next day.

    Yeah she just got too much all at once. As long as she's eating it'll slow down in a few days.

Hope it slows down. If it comes out any faster I'll need to start that ark project I've been putting off....

Better hurry i think it takes a long time to make one

magnesium does that, don't know about other minerals.
Doesn't seem to hurt a thing. They scour for a day or two, you'd think they wouldn't do it again but I leased a bull one time that got his nose in the mineral drench and gobbled it up at least twice.
Poop literally turns to water after overdosing on magnesium.

A bull got into my shed once, ate about 3 gallons of summer mineral (not the himag stuff) and a 5 gal bucket of range meal. After I got him out, he squirted like an old goose does--a stream about every 4th step. I was kinda glad he went straight to the hay ring and not to the water trough.

True and some still actually use magnesium sulfate (aka epsom salt).

All kinda coming together with the Mg suggestion. Vet just recommended an epsom salt and mineral oil tubing for a bull that got in the pigweed and had a terrible upset belly. Went from being plugged up solid to flowing like a river. Goal was to purge the pigweed and it certainly did that.
