It is really so nice to hear somebody talk with some sense. Rowe does a lot of things that must put him in the cross hairs of some pretty fanatical (and well-funded) people, and I have a lot of respect for him because he doesn't make excuses for what farmers and other laborers do.

I just think he's good looking. I don't hear a lot of what he says...

I like Mike Rowe too, he also is the voice on Deadliest Catch, plus the Ford commercials. He is very entertaining, and yes very easy on the eyes ;-) I have watched most of his dirty job episodes related to farming. He went to a huge dairy in Indiana, 25,000 cows, milked in 4 rotary parlors, he went along with one of the Vets that worked there, had some fun at the Vets expense, becasue the guy had no sense of humor, did some preg checking which was very funny-but I think the funniest episode was when he was at the pig farm-oh my gosh, that was funny-As for this interview, I say good for him, he may not know alot about agriculture but I do think its good that he is doing talks for FFA, plus slamming PETA.

We happened to catch his addresss to the FFA convention on RFDTV, just flipped the channel as he was just starting. He did GREAT. It's so good to have an advocate for agriculture like him. He isn't all emotional about it, just a calm common sense delivery and doesn't get everybody riled up, but tries to make them think. He's smarter than he looks for sure. We watch Dirty Jobs all the time and really enjoy it.

And to think he started on QVC

Did he really, I did not know that. I like the show, hubby watched all the time so I got into it.

Dun they have to start somewhere, guess where O'Reilly started.

WHERE?

Didn't he get his first real TV break as the anchor of that tabloid/gossip show Inside Edition ?

The various things he's done got me thinking. Here's his bio:
Rowe is constantly putting his hands into places that are often curious, sometimes dangerous and always dirty, thanks to his current job as host of Dirty Jobs on the Discovery Channel. From roadkill-removal specialists, to bat biologists, to professionals who determine the sex of chickens, Dirty Jobs offers an illuminating look at what lies beyond the world of 9 to 5. And no one, it seems, is better suited to the roll of good-natured guinea pig than Mike Rowe.

Before Dirty Jobs, Discovery sent Mike to the Valley of the Golden Mummies to host Egypt Week Live! There, he opened and explored ancient tombs live on air with Dr. Zahi Hawass, Egypt's foremost archaeologist. From Egypt, Mike traveled to the Bering Sea for the filming of Deadliest Catch, the network's series on Alaskan crab fishing, a profession widely considered to be the most dangerous in the world. Now, Mike has been given his own series and free reign to explore the dirty side of earning an honest living.

In cleaner days, Mike Rowe sang professionally with the Baltimore Opera, sold over $100 million of "simulated" diamonds on QVC and appeared in several dozen Tylenol commercials. He also hosted Worst Case Scenario for TBS, On-Air TV for American Airlines, The Most for The History Channel, No Relation for Fox and New York Expeditions for PBS.

In San Francisco, Mike is best known for his work on CBS as the host of Evening Magazine, a position he held from 2002 to 2005. Along the way, he has narrated over 1,000 hours of television and has performed dozens of theatrical productions. Rowe also continues to host the long-running weekly Sunday morning real estate show "Your New Home" on WJZ in Baltimore.

Yep,I do like watching Mike Rowe--and another is Mike Holmes..Something about a man with honest dirt on his hands and boots (sigh)
