Need I say more?

Don't even recognize some of the kids that grew up with mine. Kids I used to coach etc.

I have had issues with one of my own daughters. Never touched the stuff but I have been deeply affected.

Its a shame isn't it? I think everyone has seen what it will do to you so why do it. Do they think they will be different?

Kids are use to experimenting but from what I hear about this stuff one time and you're hooked.

It is a serious serious problem in my area. I cought a guy that I grew up with breaking in to one of my farm houses. When I saw what he had done to himself, I just turned him loose. He looked like he just had days left to live. I have stood by death beds were the person looked better.

I know a guy that manages a big coop that was hooked on it
He has been clean for 10 years and said he still craves it

I've got a cousin that started using as a teenager. She has beaten the odds and has been clean for about a year now and we can tell that she's still clean because when she uses she's about one-twenty and she's about three hundred now.
The lasting effects on everyone else are the sick part. Her family is broken from raising her three kids for her, including us as we had the middle child for a few years. All three are crack babies even though she swears they're not. One will not be functional as an adult and her doctors are stumped about what all is wrong with her but they all agree that they are seeing more like her and meth is a common denominater.
When she's sober you can trust her with your life. The DAY she starts using things start to disappear and you have to hide all of your financial information in the safe or your identity is gone. I told her about two years ago that I'd kill her myself if I found her on my place and I meant it... I'm kind of ashamed that I said that now that she has turned herself around but I think she needed to hear it and I've been really supportive since she proved to me that she's cleaned up.

I heard of something yesterday I didn't know about. It might be something they've been doing but it's news to me.
The dumb azz's are injecting OxyContin into their arms. If they get it just a little wrong it kills them them.

Locally the oxy has been an epidemic. Now we're seeing a shift to heroin because it's much cheaper to use illegal drugs than it is to abuse prescriptions.

Drugs are totally out of control. Don't for one minute mistake that drugs are only a big city problem. It is absolutely wrecking rural America. I am not interested in public elections at this point in my life but I did pay enough attention to catch that the issue dominated the local politics at the commissioner/county administrator offices. All the candidates were ruminating on how they would deal with the local drug problems. Law enforcement is totally over-whelmed. They catch em, they get turned loose and then they catch em again. The regular drug runners are laughing at them. I am foolish, but I still have a hard time passing a person who needs a ride. This winter I told the story about picking up the girl who needed a ride and if you remember when I put her purse in the back seat, I could hear all the pills in their bottles.

Well about 2 months ago, I was going past the Boyd Cattle Company (these guys put a lot of bulls in the semen catalogs) on US 62. I passed a guy who looked normal enough that I decided to give him a ride. When he told me where he wanted to go, I knew the trailer house was on a regular scheduled drug bust routine. I know one of the deputy sheriffs in the area where I live who has told me the stories. I suddenly wished I had passed him. This is the kicker. He said he would like me to take him back to Five Lick Creek to pick up something along the road but thought I probably did not want to get involved. I knew what he meant. Apparently, rather than cook their stuff in the trailer where they would get caught again. They put it in a container, throw it out the window of the car into the weeds, wait for it to cook and when it is ready, they go back and get it. I said no I had to get home. I dropped him off at the drug trailer and he seemed very pleased to find a guy as nice as I was.

It's been bad here a long time but I hadn't heard or even knew about injecting it. Xanax and ecstasy and hydrocodon (sp) are big here too but meth (whites) and crack (blacks) are the big ones.

It is horrible here.
Lots moving through from Houston to points east on US 190.
The cartel has pot farms as well.

Vietnam vets are drug pushers in my area. They go to the VA clinic and complain about all kinds of pain. The VA mails them a months supply of Oxycontin and they then sell if to the teens for $5 a pill. May be not all of them but there was one. who is dead now.

Wouldn't surprise me one bit that is what he had to do to survive.
Meth has became an industry here the economy is so far in the gutter.

What I see in rural Texas and Oklahoma is wanna be gansta's
These are poor ignorant kids from low income families out away from the cities that are bored and looking for excitement and money like they see on MTV.
They want to be like the rapper's and ballers they see on TV.
They get these old car's and put big shiny wheels on it and big speakers. They wear old throwback jersey's, flat billed caps and shoes Kobe or Lebron wears. Riding round acting tough like their pushing weight.
Most live at home with their welfare mother and they steal starting fluid, anhydrous, allergy and cold medicine and anything they can get their hands on.
They're just ignorant kids with no ambition and no desire to change their lives.
