To All My Democrat Friends:

Please accept with no obligation, implied or explicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all. I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2014, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great. Not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country, nor the only America in the Western Hemisphere . This wish is made without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishee (yours truly).

To My RepublicanFriends:
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. In God We Trust & God Bless America! and Keep your powder dry.

If someone wishes me a Happy Chanukah, (or Qwanzaa, or Solstice or whatever) I take it in the spirit intended, which is a blessing.
Since I'm an observant Christian, I wish all a Merry Christmas. If the receiver chooses to see that as an insult, that's their problem to own, not mine. I still wish blessings upon them.

I try not to discuss politics with friends unless I KNOW, for certain, that we agree on most issues.
I'm sure I have friends (not close friends, acquaintances ) with whom I've not discussed politics, so it's possible that I might have friends who are democrats. I do have a number of relatives who are democrats, but I generally don't like them, so they're not friends.

Merry Christmas everyone! :santa:

I wonder if the people that don't believe in Christmas, make their kids go to school on Christmas. I'm sure there would be a Jewish school open somewhere?

My wife's mother(and she's not much of one) joined the Jehovas Witnesses a few years ago and makes a point of working on Christmas since they don't celebrate holidays. She makes business calls to her clients at home on Christmas morning. We communicate with her via e-mail only for most of the year because of that whole us hating her guts thing but we do make a point of calling her and wishing her the Marriest Christmas Ever every year just so that she knows we still care. :D

They use to be bad about showing up at your door with their pamphlets just about the time you and the family were getting ready to go to church too.

Merry Christmas TB to you and yours.
Try to be on your best behavior over the holidays so the kids don't move you from the old folks home in Texas to Maine.

TB on the sweet little blue haired old ladies showing up with the watch tower pamphlet.
I started off nice telling the little ladies my and their beliefs differed as we were Church of Christ.
That didn't seem to deter them so I went to researching them.
The next time they showed up to the door I ask if they believe only 144,000 are going to heaven and she replied yes happily.
I forget the number of JW's at the time but replied mam your are selling tickets and the train is full and left the station.
She hasn't been back.
