We have Amish and Mennonites here in Middle Tennessee. The Amish here are Old Order, black buggies. Still, everyone calls them Mennonites.

:roll: ...no Mennonites are a "little more behind the time" than anyone else...just believe in a simpler way of living...whether that means having electricity and vehicles and all the other modern technologies...well that's their choice of how simple of a life they want to live...There's a big difference between Stauffer Mennonites and Moderate Mennonites...Moderate Mennonites have no certain dress codes or no restriction on technology :roll:

In a previous life I was married to a girl who was raised Mennonite. Her family was what they called "black bumpers". Everthing had to be black and very plain. When we'd go up to Ohio or Pennsylvania we'd see just about every kind of Mennonite you can think of-from the very plain to the very modern. Some of the more modern ones, the ladies cut their hair and wore jewelry with just a very small head covering on the back of their heads. I always enjoyed going to their farms. They had these huge bank barns, kept their places really neat and boy, were those ladies some good cooks.
