Went through the drive through at McDonald's this morning. Order came to $ 6.65.

Gave the girl who looked to be a teenager a $ 5 and $1 dollar bill. Two quarters, a dime and 5 penny's.

She held the bills in one hand and the change in the other. Just kept staring at the money she was holding for several minutes.

Then she put the money in the register and gave me a nickel and 3 pennies back ?

From now on unless they short me and it isn't much change involved. I am not saying anything to them.

Had another incident similiar to that one a few weeks ago. That's twice something like that has happened since my experience at cracker barrel.

Poor kids don't stand a chance. If you had learned math like this you couldn't give change either.

I can kinda make some of that ^^ work.

But where does the 15+5 come in.
How does 12-3=15?!
I can assure you, they are teaching college students this way as well. Im currently working on my MBA one of the math classes was atrocious for this nonsense (trying to find the solution via their way). Ugh, i think im starting to get a headache now

I guess I am getting old, but another thing ask a young person what time it is on an analog clock. If it is not digital they will struggle to know the time. Working with youth one day I wondered why they could never follow the rules about time. I figured it out as we had an analog clock for them to go by and they did not have a clue.

I would drop out of college. Spend my money on a roll of toilet paper instead of a college degree.

Get a whole lot more use out of the toilet paper and have the satisfaction of knowing the college didn't get the last laugh on ripping me off of all the money that it took to get that worthless degree.

The way i look at what is happening with our kids education is the way i look at our president.

Sure Biden is a moron, imbesil, several French fries short of a happy meal, his evelator doesn't go all the way to the top floor and so on.

He is destroying the U.S. and he is getting the blame for it too. But he wouldn't have got to do all of that if he hadn't of been voted into that position and given the authority to do what he is doing.

So thoes to blame are everyone that voted for him. Not the moron. He is just doing what we the people are letting him do.

Same way with what we are letting be taught to our kids in our schools.

How recently were you in school?

The crazy thing is that schools are failing to properly educate the children, yet the school boards keep voting to raise taxes. They seem to feel that they are entitled to raise them whenever they want. Just heard yesterday that they had approved a raise of approximately $18 per $100,000 of assessed property value. This on top of the fact that over half of the current property tax already goes to the schools. We had some good schools throughout the county but the idiots closed them and consolidated them into new huge multimillion dollar buildings. Now they don’t even have enough bus drivers and have to cancel routes daily. If the schools were closer it would have been a lot easier for parents to get their children to school. The school systems like a lot of of other entities are not being good stewards of the resources they have and they think more will be a difference maker but it hasn’t yet.
As for common core, some educated idiots probably hatched out an an idea to try to make the schools look like they were actually doing something, to justify their ridiculous spending.

My wife taught at private schools and the one she worked at here was in the process of changing curriculum and she and some other teachers there were not impressed with the new and she was outspoken about it. That was the issue that got the administrator against her. She gave up teaching after that experience. She does miss the actual teaching but with all the politics and nonsense she’s happier working on her own projects.

I completely understand. It wasn’t her who I had in mind.

Texas legislation is in session right now to eliminate property taxes. Several bills in committee. I have no clue what the bills will look like. My legislator wants all property tax gone replaced with sales tax.
That’s the fairest, another wants school taxes eliminated from property replaced by sales and so on.
