Obviously this is not the McCormick of old, but does anyone here have one of the new McCormick tractors?

They have a two-year bumper-to-bumper warranty and a five year limited warranty on the drive train. They are offering great financing and a free front-end loader with a new tractor purchase. They sell for about 30% less than Kubota. Full service dealer is just down the road.

Like I said, this ain’t the old stuff that our dad’s and granddad’s had, but is it any good?

I would not buy one no matter how cheap they are if it is a piece of junk.

The company is Italian and the tractor is made on Korea. Another legacy tractor they make is Landini from Italy.

Used to be a few McCormicks around here when they were basically rebadged CaseIH Maxxums and good tractors.

Seems the McCormick company didn't treat their dealers very well and quality suffered after the company moved on from the Maxxum bloodline.

I don't know of any McCormicks around here now. A good stable dealer would make a difference, but there are none here.

I didn't check that. It is 130 miles for me, and there are only two dealers within 200 miles
 
I looked at one of the bigger ones, and felt they were built good. Our local dealer tried to sell me one in the worst way. He is now no longer a McCormick dealer. He said McCormick was trying to screw him on stocking X amount of tractors and some other things. Now he sells Mahindra tractors. I would sure tell him to look at Kubota and John Deere's compact tractors.

I would get either a John Deere, New Holland, Case IH, Kubota, or Massey Ferguson and run from anything else.
 
HDRider, I don't think I would. But from what I have seen they look good. I just like to be able to buy the parts to fix anything that breaks. Some day a new tractor will be old, and everything wears out it's just a matter of time.

Basically yes they are. Both companies are owned by Fiat and fall under the CNH Brand (Case New Holland). Some minor hood differences and obviously different colors, but both are pretty much the same tractors now.
 
If I wanted a new tractor, and wanted to save a few bucks, I would go with a Massey Fergueson. The off brands scare me. Availability of parts could become impossible. They are the only tractor that I have ever owned. I've gotten good service out of everyone of them.
 
Bigfoot, a few years ago MF sold more tractors world wide than any other tractor company. I for the life of me can't find the source right now.
 
There is dealerships for both McCormick and Mahindra withing 20 miles of my place though. There are several of both brands in my area. The people I know with them are satisfied. My dad has a CX95 McCormick I think it is a 2008. He has had pretty good luck out of it so far. It's his only tractor so he uses it for everything. The McCormicks also have the Perkins engines. I just recently bought a Mahindra tractor a 6530. I like it so far but I've only put about 10 hrs on it. I hope it holds up well. :lol:
 
I own a McCormick CT65U. It's a 50 PTO horse tractor. I initially got it to square bale hay. I have owned it for a little over 2 years. The only complaint I have is that the A/C condenser and the radiator are too close together. When cutting, raking and baling, the dust catches in between the condenser and radiator and stops them up quickly. It is very difficult to clean the condenser quickly, and removing the radiator is a pain also. This year I bought a much larger Kubota. It is designed much better. I can clean the radiator and condenser quickly and easily.
To be fair. I got a steal on the McCormick. A Kubota the same size would have cost me at least $10K more. It has done everything else I've asked of it without any trouble.
