Max, my twin (both raised by their 1000 lb 5yr old dam) Moderator sired, yearling bull is with the heifers now. I decided to let him have them and not AI them, but to try and get all the cows this year.
His BBSE was 40cm scrotal, and SM was 89-4-11 ..

Needless to say he is very happy being with the young ladies . I can't imagine how he would look now, had I really pushed the feed to him but the boys got only oat green feed all winter. But I did give them a couple of pounds of rolled barley ever second day the last month or so as my feed is dwindling fast. I am sure I will get some really nice calves from him next year. :D

Not good pics at all sorry, he was more interested in Little Miss Sunrise or maybe that was Kyla (?) than posing for the camera. I will never get a job taking pics for a catalog.

The bull I sold this morning looked alot like him only he was a darker cherry red color.

Your bull looks awesome. I'm not qualified to give you feedback on structure and phenotype. But as far as eye apeal goes he looks like he'll turn heads. What's with that green stuff. When I lived in Edmonton we didn't see anything green til the end of May.

Thanks BB and TF, he looks pretty much like his sire.
Town farmer we have not had any real moisture since Jan. it is very very depressing here. We are desperate after the drought last year. They are predicting rain and snowing for us all this week starting at 3 pm it is now 7pm and the sky is clear and not a drop. That green just may be the only we see if things do not change fast. :cry2: The area I live in is known for lush fertile land and lots of rain ,, so much for that.

It sounds desperate. I hope you get some significant moisture this week as predicted. I do remember seeing the awesome lush grazing lands around Red Deer when we lived in Alberta.

He looks great HD. He appears to already be inhis working clothes. I am looking forward to seeing him at the end of the summer. I bet he fills out a bunch.

I sure hope you see some moisture soon. It rained all over Colorado for the last 3 days except for here.

3way it missed us again last night and now they have called the rain and snow off for the week in our area. I am so disheartened that I almost want to cry. :cry2: Places 30 miles away got dumped on and we got nothing as usual.

Kyla, her dam is Kayla and I have a Kalea, a Kia ,a Kaleana and twin heifers from last year Kyla and Kaylee. She has given me heifers every year except this one ,I have a beautiful bull calf from her now. I need to come up with a name for him , maybe Kayne.

It was just a bit of a shock reading that. :D

On topic, the bull looks nice. Nice and thick along the top and muscled where it counts. I really like the heifer too actually.

Thanks Kyla, I am really proud of my group. I culled really hard in the fall and kept who I thought would add the most to my herd but also would be easy keepers. I just hope I can keep my herd now. Please pray for moisture for us soon ....

HD your tough yall will make it through the droughts.but dont you dare give up an sell all your cattle.youve come to far with your herd.

After seeing some pics of older bulls on here; I cannot wait to see what Max looks like as a 2 or even 3 yr old. :D Thanks for everyone that posts pics of their bulls, as I always second guess mine but now I know,,, I do know ..
