Last time: I come up with 301 feet now. Checked that against a computer program and came up with almost the same answer. I guess the fourth time is a charm.

I see where I made my mistake. I used the circum. measurement for diameter. I flunk. Back to the calculator.

Now I come up with 947 cubic feet. But don't trust me I already flunked this math test.

To calculate volume:
Volume = Pi(r)(r)h = Pi times the radius squared times the height.


The radius is 3.023 feet, the height is 10.67 feet - plug the numbers in and i get the same answer as cf does - 306.4 cubic feet.

Let's see how my math works

circ = 228 inches : 228 /3.1429 = 72.54 inch diameter

72.54 x 128 = 9285.12 * 3.1429 = 29182.20 cu inches

29182.2 / 1728 = 16.89 cu ft

convert to feet in problem....

cirm - 19' : 19/3.1429 = 6.05' diam

6.05 x 10.67 = 64.55 * 3.1429 = 202.87 cu ft

why doesn't it equal?

Oh NO!!!!!!!! There's more figuring to be done? I was short circuiting on the first one. Downright embarrassed. Pie's are square, unless it is pecan pie. Think it is best for me to just stick to cobblers. Boysenberry cobbler is best. How many cobbler's can that cylinder hold?

There's a cubic foot and a quarter in a bushel roughly. They'll have a bushel weight cup there to measure pounds in a bushel and you can do the math. I get about 6.5tons of corn or a smidge over 4 ton of oats.
