I found this corner today at work. Thought you all might get a kick out of it. This is an actual corner and is described in a deed. I'm sure there is a good story to this but I don't know it. Will ask around and maybe some of the old timers know. Hope the pic turns out well.

If you can't make it out, its the barrel of a double barrelled shotgun driven to the hilt. :lol:

Oh, with 80 degree days we still have these crawling around too. (Please note the absense of any "blue pigmentation"! ;-) )

One point in one of our deeds calls for 18 rods from the walnut tree, spent $2,000 :o :o finding out where that old walnut tree used to be and getting a 3/4" rod put in.

A pine knot. Will last a long time because the 'fat' sap keeps the bugs away.

Lot's of old axles were used for corner markers too.
