Not surprised one single bit.

Nope, not surprising. "Precious minerals" (rocks) prices have been manipulated for many decades as well, especially diamonds.

I think we'll find most commodities have.

Seems like there's been an uncoupling of the supply and demand forces in beef for some time.

The prices in the deli, just don't seem to take the beatings the prices in the rings do. Nor do the ring prices seem to enjoy a comparable upward swing when going in the opposite direction.

Yep. The retail price hikes we saw after 2011-2012 drought sell off never really came back down much,but the sale barn prices sure did.
