Went there on our honeymoon 1989, right after the fires. We seen some about a mile away and wanted to get pictures. Walked toward them about a half mile away and changed our mind

No, it was about that distance that the largest among them raised his head and turned his body so we could see how big he was. Also never took his eyes off us. A bit intimidating. I think he was sizing us up for a mud hole
